Fiorentina have made contact with Manchester United to start negotiations over signing midfielder Anderson on a permanent basis.

La Viola snapped up the Brazilian on loan from Manchester United in January and have been impressed with the player. So much so that they are now keen to ensure his stay is a permanent one.

According to Italian daily La Nazione, Fiorentina have now started to talk to the Red Devils over Anderson and are hoping to negotiate a lower fee than the €6m which had been previously agreed as a purchase option.

Fiorentina believe their chances of gaining a discount are high, with Anderson not appearing to form part of Manchester United manager David Moyes' plans for next term.

The 26-year-old has made seven appearances in Serie A for La Viola so far this season, along with one appearance in the Coppa Italia.

He has yet to get off the mark in terms of goals however.
