Tottenham Hotspur are ready to go fishing at Athletic Bilbao, with three of the Basque club's talents identified as potential summer signings by the White Hart Lane outfit.

Despite managerial uncertainty at Spurs, it appears planning for transfer market escapades this coming summer is continuing unabated.

And that has led the English club to Athletic Bilbao, with a scout heading to watch the Basque side in action against Malaga on Monday evening, a game which ended 3-0 to the hosts at the San Mames.

According to local daily Deia, the object of Spurs' interest are trio Aymeric Laporte, Iker Muniain and Ander Herrera.

Young defender Laporte has enhanced his growing reputation with a series of competent displays for Athletic Bilbao this term, even seeing himself linked with Barcelona as a result.

Winger-cum-forward Muniain is a more established performer for the club, despite still being just 21 years old. Muniain made his debut for Athletic Bilbao in 2009, becoming the youngest player to turn out for the club in the process.

Midfielder Herrera meanwhile was the subject of interest from Manchester United last summer, the Red Devils scurrying to push a deal for the 24-year-old over the line but ultimately being beaten by the closure of the transfer window.

Athletic Bilbao currently sit fourth in La Liga and are on target for Champions League football next season.
