“It was an amazing finish from Christian.

"We know how good he is and hopefully he will be the man to finish the season well for us because when he plays well, we play well”, the Togolese footballer told Tottenham's official site.

Spurs are currently sixth in the Premier League, three points ahead of defending champions Manchester United, who still have a game in hand over them.

They are battling the Red Devils for a place in the Europa League next year, and will be hoping to cement their position when they host Fulham at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Spurs round out the season with fixtures against Stoke City, West Ham United and Aston Villa over the remaining weeks.
