Tottenham Hotspur defender Younes Kaboul has heaped praise on team-mate and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for his superb display in his side’s 3-1 win over Fulham at the weekend.

The French international made a string of fine saves during the contest at White Hart Lane, including keeping out Steve Sidwell’s spot-kick with just 13 minutes remaining, which helped ensure Spurs came out with the full three points.

And Kaboul, who previously played with the custodian in the French national youth teams, explained that the 27-year-old was pivotal in keeping his side in the game.

The defender further added that his compatriot’s quickness and intelligence gives him the edge over some of the other goalkeepers.

“Big credit to Hugo because he kept us in the game”, the defender added.

“I’ve known Hugo since I was 16 years old when we played together in the French national youth teams, so I’ve seen many times what he can do.

“He is so quick and so intelligent and that’s the difference compared to some of the other goalkeepers.”

Lloris joined Tottenham from Lyon in 2012 and has thus far made 75 appearances in all competitions for the club.

He is the current captain of the French national side, for whom he has earned 57 caps.
