Pep Guardiola has made clear his desire to stay at Bayern Munich for a long period amid speculation that he could be targeted by Manchester United.

The English champions sacked David Moyes as manager early this morning and the hunt is on for a successor at Old Trafford.

Guardiola, whose Bayern Munich side knocked Manchester United out of the Champions League this season, has been mooted as a contender in some quarters.

But the Spaniard is clear where his future lies.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Bayern Munich's Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid tomorrow evening, Guardiola explained: "I want to stay at Bayern for the long term.

"Bayern is my team and I think we can do even better."

Guardiola only took over at the Allianz Arena last year, succeeding Jupp Heynckes, who signed off by leading Bayern Munich to a Champions League, Bundesliga and German Cup treble.
