Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is so keen to rule himself out of contention for the Manchester United job that he admits he has not bothered to wait for the Red Devils to make an enquiry.

Manchester United sacked David Moyes earlier this week and have now commenced their search for a successor to the former Everton manager.

Klopp has been mooted as a high-level contender for the English champions, but the German is unwilling to quit his post at Dortmund.

"I find it a little uncomfortable having to turn somebody down without them even making an enquiry, but it seems like I have got to do it anyway", he was quoted as saying by ITV.

"There are about 1,000 reasons why I am so happy to be working at this club", Klopp added.

The German, who has led Dortmund to two Bundesliga titles and into a Champions League final, currently has the Ruhr giants sitting second in the table.

Manchester United meanwhile are just seventh in the Premier League.
