Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho is pleased with his performances in his first season in the Premier League, but admits that adapting to a different league and country was a challenge for him.

Paulinho joined Tottenham from Brazilian outfit Corinthians last summer for a fee of £17m, a club-record transfer fee at the time.

Paulinho has so far scored seven goals for Tottenham this season and is happy with his performance so far in this campaign.

“It’s my first season in the Premier League, I've played a lot of games and yes, I’m happy with seven goals”, the 25-year-old told the club’s official site.

The Brazilian is pleased with the way his first season in England has turned out and admits that adapting to a different league in a different country was always going to be a challenge for him.

“Everyone knows the first season [in the Premier League] is difficult. It’s a change of football after playing in Brazil, a change of lifestyle and I’m delighted to score seven goals.”

Paulinho has made 25 appearances for the Brazilian national team and is expected to be part of the squad that will look to win this summer’s World Cup on their home turf.
