Tim Sherwood has stated that facing Stoke City on their home turf is always a tough task and believes that Tottenham Hotspur’s win against the Potters in December last year is irrelevant at this stage of the season.

Tottenham registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Stoke at White Hart Lane, with goals from Roberto Soldado, Mousa Dembele and Aaron Lennon

"It’s always tough at Stoke. They've picked up of late and will be a different proposition to the team we played earlier this season”, the Englishman said via his club’s feed.

The 45-year-old believes that a trip to Stoke is always a tough proposition for any team and many big teams have come undone at the Britannia Stadium.

"Stoke have taken some big scalps at home and we don’t want to be added to that list."

Tottenham are currently sixth in the Premier League table with 63 points, ahead of Manchester United in seventh on 57 points.
