Juan Mata has dedicated Manchester United’s comprehensive win over Norwich City on Saturday to the fans and believes that after a tough season the supporters deserve a good end to the campaign.

Mata scored a brace in Manchester United’s comfortable 4-0 win over Norwich City on Saturday at Old Trafford, despite starting on the bench.

The former Chelsea man dedicated his team’s performance to the fans and is happy to finally see some smiling faces in the crowd, in a season where they had precious little to smile about.

“Our fans deserve that, indeed”, the Spaniard wrote on his weekly blog.

“They deserve scores like this one because, in this tough season, they have gone home with a downcast face too many times.

"So that's what we are going to try in the remaining games.”

Mata joined Manchester United from Chelsea in January this year on a deal worth £37.1m, the highest transfer fee paid by the club for any player in their history.

The Spaniard has struck the back of the net four times in his last four league appearances for Manchester United.
