Everton have revealed that Leighton Baines is in line to feature against Manchester City on Saturday.

The left-back, who has scored five Premier League goals this season, was substituted in the closing stages of the Toffees’ 2-0 loss to Southampton at the weekend after suffering a knock to his knee and calf.

But the Merseyside club confirmed that Baines has reacted well to treatment and is set to feature against the Citizens at Goodison Park.

"Leighton Baines is set to be fit for this weekend's game against Manchester City", said a statement on the club's official site.

"The England international was assessed over the weekend, but has reacted well to the problem, meaning he should be fit for Saturday's crunch Goodison clash."

Everton also revealed that the club have recalled Apostolos Vellios from his loan spell with Blackpool.

The Greek striker joined the Tangerines at the end of March and was due to stay for the remainder of the campaign.

However, Vellios failed to make a mark during his short stint with the Championship outfit.
