Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti is pleased with the way the French club have improved in the last few seasons and believes that they finally have a winning mentality.

Ancelotti joined PSG in December 2011 and finished runners-up in Ligue 1 behind champions Montpellier. The Italian won the league title with PSG in his first full season with the club in 2012/13.

"I felt respected in France; it was just difficult to change the working mentality when I arrived”, the 56-year-old told Ligue 1's official site..

Ancelotti admits that the PSG job was a challenge for him as he needed to change the culture of the club in accordance with the financial power that they had, and believes that the team are finally showing signs of being an elite level club in Europe.

“We needed to change that in order to fulfil the ambitious objectives set out by the Qataris, in order that Paris became a team in accordance with the financial potential of the club.

“I think Paris has improved a lot on this front and now PSG has that winning mentality."

Ancelotti has won league titles with three different teams in three different countries. He won the Scudetto with AC Milan, the Premier League with Chelsea and the Ligue 1 title with PSG. The Italian also won the Champions League twice with Milan in 2003 and 2007.
