Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen feels his side’s 1-0 win over Stoke City at the weekend was one of the weirdest games he has played in.

Spurs won the contest at the Britannia Stadium, courtesy of Danny Rose’s first half header, which proved to be the difference between the teams.

The Potters threw everything at Tottenham in search of an equaliser after the break, even after being reduced to 10-men following Ryan Shawcross’ expulsion.

But the White Hart Lane club managed to protect their lead as they consolidated sixth place in the Premier League with 66 points from 36 games.

However Eriksen, who feels it was a very evenly contested game, was pleased after his side managed to come out with the full three points.

“I think it was one of the weirdest games I’ve had at Spurs so far because it just went up and down the whole game”, he said.

“Everybody saw how strong Stoke were but even though they got the red card the game was still really open.

“They knew when they went down to 10 men that they had to work even harder and they did that.

"Perhaps we should have closed the game out sooner, but nonetheless we’re happy with the three points and I think we deserved to win.”
