Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is delighted with his team’s performance after they thrashed Bayern Munich 4-0 in the second-leg of their Champions League semi-final at the Allianz Arena.

The Spanish international’s two headers in the first half, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s strike in the 34th minute along with a late free-kick, that saw the Portuguese forward score his 16th goal of the European campaign, ensured that Carlo Ancelotti’s side marched into the final on an aggregate win of 5-0.

And Ramos was satisfied after his side’s commanding performance over the defending champions of the European tournament, and said that the team had successfully lived up to their name.

“The Champions League owed me one; and what's more, against Bayern”, he was quoted as saying by Marca.

“Goals are not that important, although it is very rewarding on a personal level but what’s most important is the team. We said we would give it our all and we did.

“Real Madrid is where it belongs. We've beaten the current champions on their home turf in true Real Madrid style”, the 28-year-old added.

Real Madrid will now face either Chelsea or Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final on 24th May in Lisbon.
