Pep Guardiola will not change his coaching principles, despite Bayern Munich suffering a slump, with the Spaniard explaining he knows no other way.

Despite dominating possession against Real Madrid over both legs of their Champions League semi-final, the Bavarians were still eliminated by the Spanish side, going down 5-0 on aggregate.

That result, combined with a Bundesliga run which has seen Bayern Munich win just three of their last six games, with two defeats, has sent criticism heading Guardiola's way.

"The team must play according to the ideas of the coach. I am convinced that is the only solution for the club", the Spaniard told a press conference today.

"I didn't come here to change German football culture any more than that of Bayern.

"But when I speak to my players on a daily basis I can't talk about ideas in which I don't believe.

"It is with this system and these players that we achieved a lot of success this season. And we still have a final to play [in the German Cup]."

Guardiola's men are next in action away at Hamburg tomorrow on the penultimate matchday of the Bundesliga season.
