Spanish Under-21 international Gerard Deulofeu has expressed his satisfaction at a Barcelona return after the end of a season-long loan spell at Premier League side Everton.

The winger was impressive for Roberto Martinez's side, playing 25 matches and scoring three goals.

However, the end of a successful season has meant that the 20-year-old is back home to join the Catalan giants.

“It’s been a really great week, marvellous," Deulofeu said via the club's site.

"It became official that I’m coming back to Barca and that they want me.

"I’m very happy, I’m going home.”

Speaking about his experience at Everton, Deulofeu said that the year was "good" and he was able to learn a lot "both as a footballer and a person."

“It was a good experience. I learned a lot, both as a footballer and a person.

"But I’m happy to come home, that was my objective. Now it’s time to work for Barca”, the Spaniard added.
