Southampton legend Matthew Le Tissier has sought to calm supporters' nerves over a number of potential outgoing players at St. Mary's Stadium.

The Saints are selling striker Rickie Lambert to Liverpool, while the same club also want to sign Adam Lallana. Manchester United meanwhile are stepping up talks to capture left-back Luke Shaw.

Centre-back Dejan Lovren has also been linked with the exit door amid a sense of uncertainty that has followed the departure of manager Mauricio Pochettino to Tottenham Hotspur.

But Le Tissier has called on the club's fans to hold their nerve.

"Let's not panic about possible exits until you see how the funds are reinvested in the squad and see how we look when season starts", Le Tissier said via his Twitter account.

"One man leaving is another player's opportunity.

"I only became a regular in Southampton's team after Danny Wallace went to Manchester United", he concluded.
