AC Milan have not activated their option to buy Adel Taarabt from QPR and are seeking a reduction in the R's asking price for the player.

Taarabt joined the Rossoneri in January on loan and wasted no time in impressing at the San Siro, causing Milan to eye keeping him on a permanent basis.

QPR have been prepared to sell Taarabt for £4.9m, however Milan want this reduced further and have piled the pressure on the English club by not activating the purchase option in the loan agreement.

According to Sport Mediaset, the Rossoneri do not want to pay more than €4m for the attacking midfielder.

QPR could now decide to keep hold of Taarabt on account of their promotion back to the Premier League.

The player however has made his preference for remaining at Milan clear.
