Rickie Lambert's arrival at Liverpool does not mean a departure for Fabio Borini, the Italian's agent insists.

Liverpool have snapped Lambert up from Southampton to bolster their attacking options and the arrival of the England international could have implications for Borini, freshly returned from a season-long loan at Sunderland.

But the former Roma man's representative has no reason to believe Borini is any closer to the exit door as a result of Lambert's arrival.

"I do not think [Lambert’s signing affects Borini]", Marco De Marchi told Tutto Mercato.

"We have not received any communication about it", he continued.

"In this last season Fabio made a significant contribution to helping Sunderland survive and he was praised by everyone, especially [Brendan] Rodgers, Liverpool manager."

De Marchi also revealed that no club have made a concrete offer for Borini.

"Borini could be useful to any team, but no one has contacted us and his desire is to take his chance at Liverpool."
