Real Madrid have made contact with Toni Kroos' agent Volker Struth to enquire about the availability of his client.

Kroos, who has been strongly linked with Manchester United for the last six months, has just one year to run on his contract at Bayern Munich.

No agreement has been reached on an extension yet, with talks between club and player having been placed on hold until after the World Cup.

Real Madrid are now the latest club to check-in on the possibility of snapping up the 24-year-old midfielder.

According to Spanish daily AS, Los Blancos have made contact with Struth, although it is unknown whether the agent confirmed a desire on the part of his client to quit Bayern Munich.

Despite just winning the Champions League, Real Madrid are looking to add another top class midfielder to their ranks this summer.

They already look to have lost out on Sevilla's Ivan Rakitic, who is poised to join Barcelona.
