Sevilla are believed to be unhappy by the initial offer that Barcelona have made for their midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

Rakitic’s performances in Sevilla’s Europa League winning season have garnered praise across Europe and Barcelona are believed to be the Croatian’s next destination.

The 26-year-old is believed to have agreed personal terms with Barcelona, but the clubs haven’t yet reached an agreement.

However, in a recent twist to the tale, Sevilla are said to be deeply unimpressed with Barcelona’s initial offer, believed to be between €10m and €12m, according to AS.

Los Rojiblancos are not willing to sell their star midfielder for anything less that €18m and will be waiting for a better offer from the Blaugrana.

The Croatian has only one year left on his contract and Barcelona know that eventually Sevilla have to sit at the negotiating table or risk losing him for nothing next summer.

Sevilla have tried to make Rakitic sign an extension to his contract, but the Croatian has so far refused to play ball.
