Inter have burst into the race for Cagliari striker Victor Ibarbo and are preparing to offer €5m plus a number of young players on loan to secure the Colombian.

Ibarbo, who is currently at the World Cup with Colombia, is hot property this summer and has already been linked with Leeds United, Juventus and Napoli.

Ibarbo has expressed his willingness to play in England, but is not keen on dropping into the second tier to join Leeds and with Massimo Cellino's sale of Cagliari, the Yorkshire giants may have seen their chances of signing the player come to a close.

However, as Leeds' hopes drop, Inter's rise, helped in no small part by the new owner of Cagliari, Tommaso Giulini, being a former member of the Nerazzurri board.

According to FC Inter News, Ibarbo is now firmly in Inter's sights as a summer recruit.

Inter could loan any of Samuele Longo, Alfred Duncan, Ibrahim Mbaye, Raffaele Di Gennaro and Cristiano Biraghi in order to secure the Colombian.

Ibarbo's suitors could increase further though if he puts in a positive campaign with Colombia at the World Cup.
