Hull City are interested in signing Joleon Lescott on a free transfer following his departure from Premier League rivals Manchester City, according to the BBC.

The centre-back, who joined the Citizens from Everton in 2009, is leaving the club this summer following the expiration of his contract.

Lescott amassed more than 100 appearances for Manchester City and helped the club to win two Premier League titles and an FA Cup and a League Cup apiece.

However, the England international saw his game time at the Etihad Stadium club reduce significantly in the 2013/14 season where he made just 10 Premier League appearances for the Sky Blues.

And Hull City boss Steve Bruce is keen to add the experienced defender to his ranks as he prepares the Tigers for their Europa League bow.

Lescott, who has 26 caps for England to his name, missed out of Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson's squad for the World Cup.

The 31-year-old last played for his country in March 2013 and will be keen to secure regular first team football for 2014/15.
