Malaga are hoping to make progress towards signing Liverpool starlet Luis Alberto on loan over the coming week.

The Spanish side had pushed hard to complete a deal for the former Sevilla forward, but financial considerations, with Alberto's salary at Anfield, stalled talks.

However, there has been renewed contact between Liverpool, Malaga and Alberto's representatives, with all sides stating their desire to find a way to do a deal.

According to Malaga Hoy, the Spanish side are now confident of progress being made over the next week.

Malaga want Alberto to stress upon Liverpool the need for the loan to go ahead, so that the Reds can help to bridge the financial gap and make the switch feasible.
