Manchester City youngster Jason Denayer has revealed that he wants to learn as much as possible from his country and club skipper Vincent Kompany.

The 19-year-old defender had an impressive year with the Manchester City Under-21 team during the 2013/14 season and will be hoping to have a similar 2014/15 campaign.

His performances have earned him the opportunity to train with the first-team this year and he will be keen to learn from Kompany, who is also Belgian.

"It’s good that Vincent Kompany is here", Denayer told his club's official site.

"Not only is he our national team captain, but he’s captain here at City too, and he is someone I really look up to.

“He speaks to me a lot and if he sees something in training he thinks I can do better, he always lets me know.

"He also lets me know if I do something well, too, which is really important.

"I want to learn as much as I can from him and the rest of the first-team squad."

Denayer played a total of 17 matches in the Under-21 Premier League last season and was also part of the UEFA Youth League.
