Bologna forward Robert Acquafresca has admitted that he is heading for the Rossoblu exit door and insists he has no issue with moving to a club outside Italy.

The Italian has been linked with English side Leeds United, while Cypriot outfit APOEL were also suggested as a potential destination for the 26-year-old former Inter youth player.

And the forward, who won 18 caps at Under-21 level for Italy, concedes that Bologna have told him he is surplus to requirements.

"The club have decided, I know I have to leave and there are no problems", he explained to Corriere di Bologna.

"I gave everything in my time at Bologna and I am sorry at not being able to show what I showed in my time at Cagliari.

"I'll leave with a clear conscience."

The forward also explained that heading to play his football outside of Italy is not a problem, even if a speculated move to APOEL is not on the cards.

"APOEL? It was a transfer that was difficult for me and for them.

"I have no problem going abroad. I have already told [Filippo] Fusco [Bologna sporting director] and they are ready to meet with any club."
