Manchester United have to go out on the pitch and get the job done in order to reclaim the Premier League title this year, defender Phil Jones insists.

The Red Devils had a disappointing 2013/14 domestic season, where they finished seventh in the league and missed out on a Champions League spot as a consequence.

However, with Louis van Gaal taking charge at Old Trafford this year, there is a certain air of optimism around the club.

Jones though believes that success is not guaranteed in any way and they will have to work their hearts out in order to ensure silverware this year.

"Of course everyone wants to win the title", the 22-year-old told his club's official site.

"It is where we belong as a club but we have no given right to say we should win the title every year.

"We have to go out there and do the business to win it ourselves.

"We can only do that by taking each game as it comes starting with Swansea."

Manchester United take on Valencia later tonight in a pre-season friendly, before finally kicking off their domestic campaign against Swansea City on Saturday.
