Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin is coming under Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal's microscope, with the Red Devils pondering a move for the Colombian if they cannot secure Arturo Vidal.

Manchester United have been chasing Vidal throughout the summer, but have paused on offering big money for the midfielder, Juventus having slapped a minimum €50m price tag on the Chile international.

Guarin was linked with Manchester United in January this year and now the English side are ready to rekindle their interest in the all-action midfielder if they cannot bag Vidal on acceptable terms, according to Italian outlet Fanta Gazzetta.

Guarin has also draw interest from another Premier League side in the shape of Tottenham Hotspur and the White Hart Lane outfit could challenge Manchester United for the player's signature.

In a twist of fate, Guarin is also the man Juventus have been thinking of to replace Vidal, if they lose the 27-year-old to Manchester United.

Inter are thought to be looking for around €18m to sell Guarin, a figure that Manchester United may find much more of their liking.

The 28-year-old joined Inter in 2012, initially on loan, from FC Porto.
