AC Milan have officially confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Diego Lopez from Real Madrid.

The custodian had found himself made available for transfer by Real Madrid following the Spanish club's signing of Keylor Navas from Levante.

And he has quickly sealed a move to Italian giants Milan.

The length of the contract the 32-year-old has signed, along with the transfer fee paid to Real Madrid, has not been disclosed by the Rossoneri.

Lopez knocked Iker Casillas out of the Real Madrid first team when he arrived at the club in January 2013, although Casillas continued to feature in cup games.
