Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti believes his side are on the verge of starting a successful cycle, following their 2-0 triumph over Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup last night.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace at the Cardiff City Stadium handed Ancelotti his third trophy since taking charge of Los Blancos last summer.

The former AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain boss helped Real Madrid to win the Copa del Rey and the Champions League last season.

As a result, Real Madrid are in contention for as many as six trophies this term.

And Ancelotti, who hailed the Santiago Bernabeu outfit’s squad strength, feels his side are ready to compete and taste success in all the competitions.

The Italian then went on to underline the importance of rotating his players, in view of keeping Real Madrid competitive in all the tournaments over the season.

"I think we might be starting a very important cycle, because we have a squad of extraordinary quality", Ancelotti told FIFA’s official site.

"I'm fortunate to coach some outstanding players. We need to work very hard and make the necessary sacrifices. We can reach the highest heights and compete in all the competitions.

"It's hard to improve this team. We have an outstanding set of players and what's important is to use the squad to its full capacity.

"I can't think that with this squad I can have a permanent starting XI because they're all outstanding players and to be competitive in all competitions, we need to rotate our players and use the whole squad."
