Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley has revealed that Louis van Gaal’s clarity on what he wants from his players is a source of confidence for the squad, with the Dutchman's pass and move style fitting the bill.

The Red Devils finished the league last season in seventh and David Moyes was replaced by Van Gaal to steer the club back towards the right direction.

Cleverley admits that the squad are itching to get the league campaign started as they want to prove that last season was just an aberration.

"We can't wait to get going against Swansea and look to put right the wrongs from last year", the England midfielder told the club’s official site.

"This club has always been renowned for bouncing back from sticky patches and that's one of the reasons it's so loved around the world.”

The midfielder feels that he is suited to Van Gaal’s style of play and said that the Dutchman’s clear instructions give the squad the confidence to go out and carry out his plans on the pitch.

"It's very much pass and move, always asking for the ball, which is my game", he said.

"And the manager is so clear that there can be no questions asked from our point of view.

"We know exactly what he wants and are confident that if we do what he wants on the pitch, we'll win."
