Marouane Fellaini is open to moving to Serie A side Napoli, but it still remains to be seen whether Manchester United will part with the Belgian, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport.

The midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Naples since the club’s sporting director, Riccardo Bigon, was reportedly spotted with him earlier this month, along with two agents.

The Italian club’s manager Rafael Benitez also confirmed their interest in the Belgian earlier this month, but said that it is up to Manchester United to decide on the midfielder’s future.

The speculation on the Belgian’s future had gone cold since the start of this week as Louis van Gaal wanted to give Fellaini an opportunity to impress, while considering his next move.

The Belgian came on as substitute on Tuesday in a friendly against Valencia and scored an injury time winner, his first goal in Manchester United colours.

Napoli are still maintaining an interest in the midfielder and have reopened talks over the transfer.

Despite his first goal for the Red Devils, the Belgian is keen to move away from Old Trafford and Napoli are eyeing signing him on loan deal.

It remains to be seen whether Van Gaal is ready to sanction Fellaini’s departure as the club have so far failed in their attempts to sign Arturo Vidal from Juventus.
