Tottenham Hotspur custodian Hugo Lloris is looking forward to the start of the new campaign, but has refused to read too much into the club's pre-season wins.

Spurs remained undefeated in their tour of North America and rounded off their pre-season campaign with wins over Celtic and Schalke.

However, Lloris has refused to read too much into the results and said that the wins will only matter if the club can start well in their Premier League campaign.

“Pre-season doesn’t mean a lot and it’s always better not to lose games in the summer”, the French number 1 told the club’s official site.

“Now the league is starting and every team begins on zero points so we need to have a good start.”

Tottenham will take on West Ham tomorrow at Upton Park and the Frenchman feels that it will be good test for the squad at the start of the new season.

“This kind of game is a good test as a first away match, and it’s difficult to look for anything but a victory.”

The north London club finished sixth in the Premier League table last season on 69 points and qualified for the Europa League.
