Swansea City defender Dwight Tiendalli has revealed Louis van Gaal was not too disheartened following Manchester United's 2-1 defeat to the Welsh giants at Old Trafford earlier today and was still capable of a laugh.

Tiendalli and his countryman were on the pitch together prior to the game, but Van Gaal was focused on the match, rather than speaking to his fellow Dutchman, who he capped during his time as national team boss.

After the clash he could raise a laugh with Tiendalli however, despite Manchester United's shock defeat.

"He was focused [before the match]", Tiendalli told FOX Sports.

"After the match, we could still speak to each other and that was nice.

"Van Gaal could still laugh", Tiendalli added with a smile.

The 28-year-old full-back was brought off the bench by Swansea boss Garry Monk in the 53rd minute, being on the pitch when the Welsh side scored the winning goal against the Red Devils.

Tiendalli made two senior Netherlands appearances during Van Gaal's time in charge of the national team, but was not selected for the World Cup squad this summer.
