Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reiterated his desire to sign another striker before the transfer window slams shut.

Rodgers has until 23:00 on 1st September to add to Liverpool's strikeforce and, after seeing a deal to buy Loic Remy from QPR collapse over medical concerns, is still determined to do just that.

Speaking after Liverpool ground out a 2-1 win against Southampton, despite being outplayed at times by the visitors, Rodgers restated his determination.

"I do still think we want another striker", he told a press conference.

"It's something we'll look at, but it will depend on the availability of one. We'll search for that through until the end of the window."
