Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reiterated his desire to sign another striker before the transfer window slams shut.

Rodgers has until 23:00 on 1st September to add to Liverpool's strikeforce and, after seeing a deal to buy Loic Remy from QPR collapse over medical concerns, is still determined to do just that.

Speaking after Liverpool ground out a 2-1 win against Southampton, despite being outplayed at times by the visitors, Rodgers restated his determination.

"I do still think we want another striker", he told a press conference.

"It's something we'll look at, but it will depend on the availability of one. We'll search for that through until the end of the window."

Liverpool have signed two strikers this summer in the shape of Rickie Lambert (from Southampton) and Divock Origi (from Lille).

However, Origi will spend this season back at Lille on loan before heading to link up with the Reds in the summer of 2015.
