Atletico Madrid are eyeing a deal for Liverpool’s Daniel Agger, but must sell Toby Alderweireld before making a move for the Dane.

The Belgian central defender joined the Spanish champions last summer from Ajax, despite being linked with a number of Premier League clubs, but only made ten league starts last season.

The 25-year-old is ready to end his time at the club and Los Colchoneros are also keen to sell the defender if they receive an acceptable offer.

Atletico Madrid have identified Liverpool’s Danish international defender Agger as a replacement for Alderweireld, according to Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur.

Agger, who made only 16 league starts last season, is considering moving on from Liverpool in a bid to ensure regular first team football, his position only weakened by the Reds signing Dejan Lovren earlier this summer.
