Leeds United manager David Hockaday admits the club are trying to obtain international clearance for Giuseppe Bellusci to be available to face Brighton tomorrow.

Bellusci joined Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Catania last week, but with Italy having a public holiday on Friday, the club were unable to obtain international clearance for him to feature in Saturday's 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.

And they are again facing a race against time as they bid to ensure the centre-back is eligible to play against Brighton at Elland Road in the Championship tomorrow.

"We're pushing for that", Hockaday told a press conference when asked about Bellusci's international clearance.

"We're trying to find out the deadline, date, time, so we'll know more about that later on today."

The manager also underlined the importance of Leeds turning Elland Road into a fortress that opposing teams fear a trip to.

"We need to make this a really tough place", he explained.

"We need to make people uncomfortable coming here and not enjoying the experience."
