Former Liverpool and Swansea striker David N'Gog could be poised to seal a return to his homeland with Metz.

The Ligue 1 side recently sold Diafra Sakho, who joint top scored in Ligue 2 last term, to Premier League outfit West Ham and are hunting for a replacement.

N'Gog is a free agent, having parted ways with Swansea earlier this summer, and according to France Bleu, is on Metz's radar as a replacement for Sakho.

The 25-year-old started his career in his homeland with Paris Saint-Germain, but was snapped up by Liverpool in 2008.

N'Gog remained at Anfield for three years before heading to Bolton Wanderers for £4m.
