Sporting Lisbon have confirmed that they are signing winger Nani from Manchester United on loan.

The Portuguese side have agreed to sell defender Marcos Rojo to the Red Devils for a fee of around €20m, and in exchange will gain the services of Nani on a season-long loan deal.

Nani started his career at Sporting Lisbon before moving on to join Manchester United in 2007.

He only penned a contract extension at Old Trafford last year, but has slipped out of favour and is surplus to requirements for new Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal.

As a result Nani will spend the 2014/15 campaign back at the club at which it all began for him, Sporting Lisbon.

The winger has collected four Premier League titles, one League Cup and one Champions League during his time at Manchester United.

At Sporting Lisbon he picked up the Portuguese Cup in his final campaign at the club.
