Sporting Lisbon have confirmed that they are signing winger Nani from Manchester United on loan.

The Portuguese side have agreed to sell defender Marcos Rojo to the Red Devils for a fee of around €20m, and in exchange will gain the services of Nani on a season-long loan deal.

Nani started his career at Sporting Lisbon before moving on to join Manchester United in 2007.

He only penned a contract extension at Old Trafford last year, but has slipped out of favour and is surplus to requirements for new Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal.

As a result Nani will spend the 2014/15 campaign back at the club at which it all began for him, Sporting Lisbon.
