Brighton boss Sami Hyypia has saluted his side's 2-0 victory at Elland Road against Leeds United tonight and feels his team dominated the match against the Whites.

Leeds went into the Championship clash on the back of a 1-0 weekend win at Elland Road over Middlesbrough and manager David Hockaday was confident of clocking up another victory, this time against the Seagulls.

But Hyypia's side, who had lost their opening two Championship matches, looked slick throughout and took the lead through Joao Teixeira in the 5th minute, the Portuguese, who is on loan from Liverpool, slotting home.

And then Kazenga Lua Lua struck with just six minutes remaining in the match to double Brighton's lead and make sure of the three points.

Hyypia was delighted, having seen his side dominate possession and shots at goal.

"The first half was very good football and we dominated the game and showed what we can do", the Finn told BBC Radio 5 live.

"These Championship games are always a battle and we were fighting very hard and it's battle you have to win if you want to win these games.

"The players were excellent today and I'm very happy."

Next up for Brighton is a visit from Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, while Leeds lock horns with Watford at Vicarage Road.
