Leeds United have confirmed the signing of striker Mirco Antenucci from Ternana for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old has penned a two-year contract at Elland Road and expressed his delight at linking up with the Championship side.

Antenucci said via his Twitter account: "Proud to be a part of this club, LUFC I hope to give you a lot of satisfaction."

The Italian hitman scored 19 goals for Ternana in Serie B last term, turning heads.

Leeds had been on Antenucci's tail for much of the summer, but struggled to push a deal through over financial concerns.

Now however Massimo Cellino's side have snapped up Antenucci, offering another attacking option to manager David Hockaday.

Leeds have extensively raided the Italian market this summer.
