Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal insists that there is absolutely no truth in reports relating to Danny Welbeck leaving the club.

The England striker has been linked with a move out of Old Trafford this summer and it has been claimed Van Gaal has told him he can leave.

However, the Dutch manager insists that there is absolutely no truth in the reports and Welbeck is happy at the club. He also stated that the 23-year-old has already spoken with him about his future and there is no uncertainty.

Van Gaal also slammed the reports, which he adds are purely based on guesswork and nothing else.

"I know what I said to Danny Welbeck and he knows exactly what I said," Van Gaal was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"I think the media is guessing."

Welbeck started his career with the Red Devils in the youth ranks and has progressed to become an integral part of the senior team.

He has played 139 matches for Manchester United, having scored 29 goals.
