AC Milan have put Roma striker Mattia Destro and Monaco hitman Radamel Falcao at the top of their list as they hunt a successor to Mario Balotelli.

The Rossoneri are selling Balotelli to English giants Liverpool for €20m after becoming disillusioned with the striker's inconsistent displays, following a promising start at the San Siro.

Liverpool are expected to wrap up Balotelli's signature tomorrow, but Milan are already in overdrive hunting for a replacement.

According to the Corriere della Sera, Milan CEO Adriano Galliani met with Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini yesterday, seeking to lay the groundwork for a possible raid on the capital club for Destro.

Milan are eyeing a €17m bid for Destro, but Roma rate the Italy international in a much higher bracket.

The Serie A side are also looking towards Falcao, who is thought to be keen to move on from Monaco.

Falcao is ready to reduce his €12m yearly salary to leave Monaco, but Milan would have to pay a hefty loan fee to sign the striker.

Milan are also keen on FC Porto's Jackson Martinez, but the Portuguese giants are not willing to sell the 28-year-old.
