Sunderland are cranking up the pressure on Liverpool forward Fabio Borini to make a decision over his future over the next week and are hopeful the Reds' signing of Mario Balotelli will help push the Italian to the Stadium of Light.

Liverpool are poised to complete the capture of Balotelli from AC Milan tomorrow for €20m, a move which will push Borini further down the pecking order.

The Reds have already accepted a bid from Sunderland for Borini, but the player has yet to make a decision on his future.

According to Sky Italia, Sunderland want a decision from the Italian next week and believe the signing of Balotelli will force his hand.

Borini spent last term on loan at Sunderland and played a key role in helping the Black Cats avoid relegation from the Premier League.
