Real Madrid defender Marcelo has thanked Angel di Maria for his contribution at the club, as the winger prepares to move to Manchester United.

Di Maria is expected to fly to England later today to undergo a medical at Manchester United, finalise personal terms with the Red Devils and put pen to paper on a contract which will see him earn €8m per year.

Manchester United are thought to be paying a basic €75m for Di Maria, with up to €15m in bonus payments on top.

And Marcelo is sad to see the Argentina winger exit the Bernabeu.

"Love your feet Noodle!" Marcelo tweeted, with Di Maria being nicknamed the Noodle at Real Madrid.
