AC Milan have not ruled out making a move for Liverpool forward Fabio Borini, as they bid to increase their attacking options following the sale of Mario Balotelli.

The Italy international signed for Liverpool for €20m yesterday, ending an 18-month stint with the Rossoneri.

Milan are moving to sign Fernando Torres from Chelsea on loan as their primary replacement for Balotelli, but also have their eyes on Borini, according to Italian daily Tuttosport.

Liverpool are willing to part with Borini and have already accepted an offer for the forward from Sunderland.

However, Borini has yet to come to a decision on moving to the Black Cats and is waiting to see what other options come his way.

Should Milan firm up their interest in Borini, they will likely look to take the former Roma man on a season-long loan with a purchase option.

Borini spent last season on loan at Sunderland and played a key role in helping the Black Cats to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
