Cagliari coach Zdenek Zeman has insisted that midfielder Daniele Dessena should not be sold to Leeds United.

Former Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino, now in charge at Leeds, wants to take the 27-year-old to Elland Road to bolster the club's options in the middle of the park.

But Cellino, who today sacked his first manager at Leeds in the shape of David Hockaday, is set to be disappointed in his pursuit of Dessena.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Cagliari coach Zeman has ordered that the midfielder not leave the club this summer.

And new Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini has reaffirmed Dessena's importance to the Rossoblu.
