Manchester United are serious players in the race to sign Monaco striker Radamel Falcao before the transfer window closes.

The Red Devils held talks with Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes yesterday in an attempt to move a potential transfer forward.



However, Louis van Gaal's men are one of four clubs in the mix for the Colombian, with Juventus, Manchester City and Valencia all also potential destinations for the wantaway Colombian.

But according to French sports daily L'Equipe, the Red Devils are serious contenders for Falcao's signature and could pull off his signing before the transfer window closes.

 


Falcao took no part in Monaco's weekend Ligue 1 draw with Lille, watching on from the stands alongside Mendes.

The Colombia international is keen to move on from the Stade Louis II this summer, but his €12m salary and concerns about the knee injury he suffered earlier this year have slowed down the race for his signature.

Interested parties are likely to want to put Falcao through an intense medical before any deal.
