Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu is set to join Indian Super League outfit Chennai Titans on a loan deal from Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti.

The 35-year-old joined Petrolul from French outfit Ajaccio on a free transfer this January and has scored six goals in 21 appearances for the club.

However, the Romanian is ready to try his hand in the lucrative new league in India and will sign for the Chennai Franchise next week, according to Digi Sport.

He will be on loan to Chennai for the duration of the tournament and will return to Petrolul in the winter to resume his career in his homeland.

Mutu has European pedigree and played for the likes of Chelsea, Parma, Inter Milan and Juventus.
