Former Aston Villa and Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier is considering putting himself forward to become the president of the French Football Federation (FFF).

Houllier currently works as the global sporting director for Red Bulls' football teams, a group which includes New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig.

The current French Football Federation president is Noel Le Graet, who is scheduled to serve until after Euro 2016, which France is due to host.

However, beyond then elections will be held and Houllier is considering running for the post.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, Houllier has been quietly sounding out club presidents in France to see if he would command enough support to make victory a realistic prospect.
