Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini is targeting winning the Europa League to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Mancini rejoined Inter earlier this month and replaced Walter Mazzarri, who was sacked after a string of poor results.

Inter are currently seventh in the league table and Mancini has been given the task of guiding the club back into next season’s Champions League.

The Nerazzurri are comfortably placed at the top of Group F of the Europa League and a win tomorrow against Ukrainian side FC Dnipro will book their berth in the last 32 of the competition.

And the former Manchester City boss is actually thinking about winning the tournament to fulfil Inter’s ambition of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

“Tomorrow we close the subject of qualification”, Mancini said on his Twitter account.

“We must aim to qualify for the Champions League either by finishing third [in Serie A] or winning the Europa League.”
